InSAR Ground Deformation Monitoring
Custom pipeline development
True SLC InSAR with SNAP + SNAPHU for millimetre subsidence, earthquake, and volcanic deformation.
Millimetre-precision ground deformation mapping using Sentinel-1 SLC interferometry processed with ESA SNAP and SNAPHU. Each interferometric pair goes through: TOPSAR-Split → Apply-Orbit-File → Back-Geocoding → ESD → Interferogram → Goldstein Filter → SNAPHU Phase Unwrapping → Phase-to-Displacement → Terrain Correction. Output: LOS displacement GeoTIFF, ascending + descending decomposition into vertical and east-west components, and deformation rate map (mm/year) for time-series requests.
Applications: urban subsidence monitoring (groundwater extraction), post-earthquake damage extent, volcanic uplift, dam safety, landslide hazard zones. Validated against GPS ground truth from the 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquake (2.0 cm MAE on 15–45 cm signals).
Minimum engagement: 3 SLC pairs (one interferogram) per area.
